Urban Public Journal

Editorial policy

Urban Public Journal aims to make clear, careful writing about shared city places. We distinguish description from interpretation, avoid presenting an opinion as a settled fact and make room for uncertainty where a claim cannot be established from the material available.

Accuracy and independence

We check factual claims against appropriate source material before publication and use precise language about what a source can show. Editorial decisions are made for relevance to readers, not to satisfy a partner. We do not invent observations, expertise or evidence, and we revise wording when a claim needs qualification.

Corrections

Readers can flag a possible error through the Contact page. We review specific, actionable correction requests and amend material when warranted. Where a change affects the meaning of a published piece, we make the correction clear to readers rather than silently obscuring the issue.

Partners and paid material

Any sponsored or partner material is labelled clearly so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. A partnership does not buy an editorial conclusion or a favourable account. We identify the relationship where the material appears and keep the distinction visible.

Illustrations

Some illustrations may be generated with artificial intelligence. Illustrations are not evidence that a particular place, feature or event exists as depicted; we aim to label generated imagery where it appears and avoid using it to imply documentary proof.
